BRICK BY BRICK - - Building Our Family
Hello! We are Stefanie, Jason and Christian and we are hoping to grow our family through the blessing of adoption. We would like to thank you for visiting our page and taking the time to look at our family. We know in our hearts that adopting a baby (or two) would be our dream come true. We believe that no matter how a child enters our lives, they are a blessing! We will do our absolute best to provide our children with a safe, loving, fun and nurturing family.
A snapshot of us!
Stefanie & Jason met online in 2011. Soon after dating, we realized we shared many interests and family values. This was something we both we're looking for and we were ready to get married and start a family. We were engaged and married in November 2013. We always knew we wanted to have what we both came from, big loving families. Although creating our family came with many challenges, we know however a child enters our lives - he or she will be a blessing! We love children and believe any child is treasured gift! We were surprisingly blessed when we became pregnant with our son Christian Anthony in 2017.
Our wish to adopt and grow our family never changed. We are excited to see what the future holds and we look forward to the rest of our story with more children.
Stefanie is warm, caring, and somehow always making people laugh! Stefanie is out going, creative and silly. She enjoys taking on projects, decorating our home and planning family gatherings. She also enjoys bike riding, music, scrapbooking, making crafts and puzzles (usually during a snow storm!) Stefanie has a strong support system within her family and siblings, as well as her lifelong girl friends. One of the best qualities about Stefanie is how she is always ready and willing to help others.
Stefanie is an Elementary ENL teacher. She teacher English to speakers of other languages and supports children who are new to America. She absolutely loves seeing her students learn and grow as they pick up the English language. She enjoys making a difference in their lives, helping them feel comfortable, accepted and welcomed into an American school.
Stefanie was over the moon to finally become a mommy in 2018. She was so grateful to have the opportunity to stay at home for one year with him. She truly made the most of their special days together - going for walks, attending music class and library class. She cannot wait to be a mommy again and plans to continue all these special days with both kids when our family is blessed with another baby.
Jason is kind, patient, and young at heart! He is someone who is always in a good mood and he really looks for the positive no matter the circumstance. He loves to be silly and "funny uncle Jay" when he is playing with our nieces and nephews. Jason, being the son of a mechanic, grew up learning how to fix things around the house. To this day, he still does just that! he enjoys puttering in the garage and taking on projects at home.
Jason enjoys bike riding, playing golf, playing softball and fishing on his boat. Jason also enjoys mowing the lawn and working outside.
Jason works for a large real estate company in New York City as an accounting controller and has been working there for about 12 years.
Jason also comes from a great, loving family. he is the oldest of four siblings and the go to man for them all. He is always ready and willing to help his family and friends.
Jason has certainly proved to be the amazing Daddy we always knew he would be! He is always making Christian laugh and teaching him how things work. Jason is so easy to love and is certainly someone all kids look to be around.
Christian is a sweet, kind and mild mannered little boy. he loves reading books, playing with trains, being outside, going for walks, riding his bike and playing on his swing set. He adores seeing his cousins and gets so excited when they come over to play! He has learned to share his toys and take turns. Christian also loves to play with cars, trucks, trains, legos and puzzles! We just know he will make a fantastic big brother one day!
This year Christian became a big cousin twice! He is so gentle with the babies and showed us all what a great big brother he will be!
One memorable vacation together was when we took a short but relaxing trip down to St. Pete's Beach in Florida. We returned back in 2018 with Christian, Stefanie's sister Michele, husband TJ and their daughters Michaela & Lindsey. We stayed at the perfect family friendly resort called Tradewinds! They have fun day time activities, pool games, giant slides and paddle boats. Our favorite part of the trip was making smores at night and movie night in the pool.
Riding on a Mountain
One of our first adventures together was bike riding up Mohonk Mountain in New Paltz, NY. We just started dating a few months prior and everything was so new and exciting. Stefanie was nervous because the mountain is pretty high but Jason kept saying "we're almost there," and he got us all the way to the top! It was a hot day in the end of June, but we were determined to keep on. When we finally reached the top, it was nice to relax and enjoy the view while having lunch!
Even after Stefanie said she wouldn't be able to bike ride this mountain again, we returned back a year later for another adventure.
New York City
Living on Long Island, gives us the opportunity to take trips into New York City often. We can take a short train ride into the city to see a show, have dinner, shop or sight see. We are looking forward to bringing Christian on his first train ride into the city during the Christmas season to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.
Annual Family Picnic
Each summer, Stefanie and a few of her cousins help organize a family picnic at a local park. It has become a great tradition for all the aunts, uncles, cousins and kids! We usually pick a Sunday in June and it always a great day filled with BBQ, relay races, softball, bocci games, and water balloons. As tradition stands, we make sure there's a special visit from the Ice Cream Man! We love creating these memories for the whole family!
We feel truly blessed to have our family traditions when celebrating the Holidays. Whether its Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July or New Years, you could find us with our extended family sharing meals, exchanging gifts, and creating memories.
We feel so grateful to share these special days with Christian & our other children in the future. We look forward to watching Christian share the holidays with his sibling(s) one day just as we did with our siblings.
